Welcome back to part 3 of our 4-part video series on creating an online course to scale and promote your practice, in order to generate the kind of clients and cash flow that you want!
All while honoring your soul’s purpose and mission, of course.
Now, If you are just jumping on this party bus, you can checkout our previous videos on my blog, here https://www.theabundanthealer.net/blog
And today, we are going to explore…
[3 of 4] 3 Must-Haves in a Successful, Sellable Course
If your course doesn’t have these 3 things, it won’t sell.
(And here’s a spoiler alert: its not tech savvy or a gazillion years of business experience.)
I know, because I tried selling a bunch of courses without really tapping into them, and my website ended up a graveyard.
Rather than giving up, I decided to invest good money in real business coaching instead of one-off freebies (so much money, in fact, it made me a little nauseous).
Within 1 month I had made my money back ($8000).
Within 3 months, I had doubled it with the launch of a live group coaching program ($16,000).
And now I bring in up to $10k in online revenue per month through both passive income funnels and live group coaching programs.
So, make sure you check out the video and complete the assignment to help you flesh out your ideas surrounding these three things...
Mission: Why do you do what you do?
Personal Mission Moments
Context: Who are your clients and what were they doing just before reaching out to you? Where would they rather be?
The client journey
Stretching the Gap
Tools: How, specifically, are you going to bridge the gap, for your clients between their pain and pleasure points?
Measurable tools and outcomes
What will they walk away with?
What new skills will they have?
I look forward to seeing your responses in the comments below!
1.What is your mission? Who do you want to help?
This is an essential piece of your course curriculum and development, because it is what will sing straight to the hearts of your soul clients. If you are not clear on the mission, you won’t be able to identify the proper context for your clients, or how your tools can help bridge the transformational gap.
Let us know your mission by completing the following sentence and posting it in the comments in the private Facebook group…
I help _______[population] struggling with ________ and ________[what is the biggest struggle?] acheive ___________ [what do they want?] in ______ [metric/time frame] without _____________[what is their pain point? What do they want to avoid?]
Here’s my example..
“The Abundant Healer signature program is a 90-day intensive and one-stop-shop that teaches therapists, coaches and healers how to create, launch and scale an online practice, even if they have never made a dollar online, created a single lesson, and/or have no marketing list... all without having to waste a ton of time, money and effort on "experts" and gurus.”
This last piece you want to be aware of, but may not necessarily be part of your marketing…
And that is your WHY.
2. Why do you do this work? How do you benefit from it?
This is your internal, emotional inspirations and motivations. And I find, if you ask yourself that question 7 times, you will eventually find the true emotional core of what drives you...what Blake Synder refers to as “the primal urge.”
Here is an example from my own mindset journal…
1.Why do you do what you do?
“Because I want to have freedom and choices and I want to obtain those things creatively, doing what I love. “
2. Why do you want to have a lot of freedom and choices?
“So I can do whatever I want.”
3. What would you do if you have the freedom to do whatever you wanted?
“I would travel and invest in creative projects.”
4. What kind of creative projects?
“Projects that bolster my community as a creative arts therapist, and offer more live, in-person workshops, like retreats, etc.”
5. Why those projects? What do you hope to accomplish?
“I want to elevate the CAT field, raise awareness, build community, and facilitate positive experiences for practitioners and clients alike.”
6. Why would you want to do that?
“To help people feel good about themselves and to feel inspired.”
7. Why do you want to make people feel good and inspired?
“Because if I can create a meaningful experience for someone then maybe I will mean something to them...and thus I will matter...and feel connected...and inspired by them, in turn.”
My seventh answer also changes sometimes.
Everytime I do this exercise, I have a new insight about my mission and what I am all about.
In this instance, I became increasingly aware that my worthiness stuff and deservedness issues were sneaking up again.
Wanting to feel seen.
And I was avoiding them, battling a feeling of insignificance.
Whenever you are at war with yourself, you have to stop and just be with that conflict, letting the feelings come up and move through you.
Otherwise, you will introduce resistance into your vibe and that will mess with your business and your profits.
Because money is just an energetic expression of value.
If at the core of everything I am doing lies a doubt about my value, then my mission is headed for a derailment.
At the basis of it, instead, I want to identify and plant the positive feelings; connectedness and freedom of choice.
Then find ways to live those feelings NOW.
Literally, schedule them into my calendar.
So let us know in the comments below…
